The visit to the Nairobi National Park is both therapeutic and fun outing for everyone. Situated a short drive out of Nairobi’s central business district is the ,wide open grass plains and backdrop of the city scrapers, scattered acacia bush play host to a wide variety of wildlife. The park is Kenya’s oldest and one of its smallest, but sightings of lions and hyenas are regular. Visitors can enjoy the park’s picnic sites, three campsites and the walking trails for hikers.

With wide-open grassy plains, acacia Trees and Scattered Bushes, it’s a natural wonder with an opportunity to see endangered rhinos, hippos, ostrich , giraffe zebras and 400 species of birds.

Itinerary

After clearing with the Gate Park Entry procedures, you start your game drive with your Van’s Open roof for 360 view for better camera and video shots.

Visit the Hippo pool and see the sun bathing Crocodiles along the Mbagathi River.

Enjoy your Picnic lunch at the historic ivory burning site

Drive back to the main gate and take a walk on the wildeside, at the Safari Walk. With its raised wooden boardwalk that allows for uninterrupted views of the animals.

It is late afternoon now, and its time to leave the Park and visit the Giraffe Centre. There is a notice board where the whole of the Centre is mapped out. Read on how to feed the giraffe. An Educator will hand you some food pellets. Made of corn, wheatgrass and molasses, they are what you will feed them as you get up close. To get even closer, go up to the Feeding Platform. Don’t leave without getting a kiss! You can also attend a short lecture on the giraffe to learn how and why they are taken care of, these endangered animals. Leave with a whole lot more about wildlife in Kenya.

Now its time to relax and discuss the days adventure activity over our customary Nyama Choma late lunch before being dropped back at your residence.
