Day 1:Kigali

On arrival, drive to the genocide memorial site, a grim reminder of a senseless massacre of innocent’s lives in 1994. Learn about Rwanda’s history from pre-colonial times to 1994 genocide and how Rwanda has dealt with that past. Continue to see the new developments in Rwanda; the recovery has been incredible, a testament to humankind’s resilience. Lunch at a restaurant in Kigali. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel.

Day 2:Kigali - Parc Des Volcans Park

After breakfast, drive to Musanze (formerly called Ruhengeri) in the northwest part of Rwanda, the main base town for Gorilla tracking. The drive is through beautiful rolling hills, bypassing coffee, tea and banana plantations on a comfortable paved road and is approximately 2.5 hours from Kigali. Arrive and have lunch at Mountain Gorilla view lodge, Hotel La palme or Muhabura hotel.

Day 3: Gorilla Tracking

Wake up early, have breakfast, report for briefing and after, move in a company of experienced ranger guides through the forest while searching for mountain gorillas. Time taken while searching for these great apes, rangers between 2 to 6 hours depending on the movement of the gorilla groups therefore, move with your packed lunch, water, tracking gears among others. Return to your lodge, relax shortly and transfer to the Airport
