Mt. Suswa is one of the most spectacular mountains of the Rift Valley as it comprises a 12 km across double crater system, a vast network of obsidian caves and a variety of wild animals and plants. Travel To Kenya Mt. Suswa is a magnificent extinct volcano in the Rift Valley. It is famed for the many caves on its E slopes. All are easy to access, none are too long or complex and no special gear or knowledge is required to explore these systems

Itinerary

 

    • 07:30am: Depart for Mt Suswa
    • 08:30am: Arrive and start Hiking, bird watching and site seeing

Suswa has a unique double crater with a moat-like inner crater surrounding a tilted block of rock. The mountain is also known for its lava tube caves on the northeast side of the outer crater.

    • 1:00pm: Picnic Lunch at one of the caves en route to the summit. Relax at the peak taking photographs and start descending as we enjoy game watching

Other wildlife of interest found on or near Mt. Suswa includes zebras, giraffes, mongooses, turtles, hyenas and leopards.

  • 4:00pm: Leave for Nairobi expected to arrive at Nairobi at 5:30 pm
